# The big privacy-friendly Google Analytics alternatives, compared on price (2026)

Look for a Google Analytics alternative and you'll keep running into the same four names: Plausible, Fathom, Simple Analytics and Matomo. We make [Foresite](https://foresite.dev/), a newer one, and it costs less than all four. Here's by how much, with every price taken from the vendor's own pricing page on 8 October 2026.

Why look at all? Google Analytics is free, but it sets cookies to recognise visitors, which in the EU and UK generally means asking each visitor's permission before it runs. Foresite, Plausible, Fathom and Simple Analytics count visits without cookies and without storing anything that identifies a visitor, and Matomo can be set up to. Whether you still need a banner depends on where you are; we've written up [what the rules say](https://foresite.dev/blog/do-you-need-a-cookie-banner-for-analytics). (We've also compared Foresite and Google Analytics directly in [Foresite vs Google Analytics](https://foresite.dev/vs/google-analytics).)

## The short answer

- **Foresite is the cheapest of the five at every traffic level up to 1 million pageviews a month:** $4 at 10,000, $9 at 100,000 and $39 at 1 million. The next cheapest is $9, $15 and $60.
- **Foresite includes unlimited sites at every price.** Plausible's cheapest plan covers 1 site, Simple Analytics 10, Matomo Cloud 30 and Fathom 50. For an agency, that often decides the bill more than traffic does.
- **Foresite has every feature at every price.** There are no plans to compare: no feature is held back for a pricier tier.

## What each one costs

*Figure: Bar charts of monthly prices at three traffic levels. At 10,000 pageviews: Foresite $4, Plausible $9, Fathom $15, Simple Analytics $15, Matomo Cloud $26. At 100,000: Foresite $9, Plausible $19, Fathom $15, Simple Analytics $20, Matomo Cloud $42. At 1 million: Foresite $39, Plausible $69, Fathom $60, Simple Analytics $60, Matomo Cloud $204. Monthly prices on the cheapest self-serve paid plan, billed monthly. Foresite is the cheapest at every level.*

Here's the full table, with a fourth level, 10 million pageviews. Monthly prices in US dollars, before tax, on monthly billing, for the cheapest self-serve plan that covers each level.

| Tool and plan | Sites included | 10,000 | 100,000 | 1 million | 10 million |
|---|---|---:|---:|---:|---:|
| **Foresite** | **Unlimited** | **$4** | **$9** | **$39** | **$149** |
| Plausible Starter | 1 | $9 | $19 | $69 | $169 |
| Fathom | 50 | $15 | $15 | $60 | $200 |
| Simple Analytics | 10 | $15 | $20 | $60 | $160 |
| Matomo Cloud | 30 | $26 (50,000) | $42 | $204 | Quote |

Things to know when you read this table:

- **They count nearly the same thing.** Foresite, Plausible, Fathom and Simple Analytics count pageviews plus custom events. Matomo counts "hits", which also include downloads, outbound links and site searches. Matomo's smallest plan is for 50,000 hits, and its price selector sends 10 million to its sales team.
- **The others discount yearly billing; Foresite doesn't.** Plausible, Fathom, Simple Analytics and Matomo give two months free on a yearly plan. Foresite is still the cheapest at 1 million and below. At 10 million, yearly billing brings Simple Analytics to $133.33 a month and Plausible Starter to $140.83, under Foresite's $149.
- **Simple Analytics has a free plan,** for 5 sites, with 30 days of history, no events or goals, and a badge on your site. The chart shows its paid plan.
- **Foresite's price follows your traffic.** You pay the price of the smallest step that covers last month's traffic, up or down, and collection never stops for being over a limit. See [pricing](https://foresite.dev/pricing).

## If you run more than one site

Site limits are where the gap gets widest. Take an agency with 10 small client sites and 100,000 pageviews a month between them:

*Figure: Bar chart of monthly prices for 10 sites with 100,000 pageviews a month between them. Foresite $9 with unlimited sites, Plausible $39 on its Business plan, Fathom $15 with 50 sites, Simple Analytics $20 with 10 sites, Matomo Cloud $42 with 30 sites. Plausible's 1-site Starter plan doesn't cover 10 sites, so it's Business at $39.*

Add an eleventh site and Simple Analytics' paid plan and Plausible Business are both full. On Foresite, site 11 or site 200 costs nothing extra. Agencies also get [branded share links and email reports](https://foresite.dev/docs/agencies) under their own logo, at every price.
