# Install Foresite on Jekyll

Jekyll builds every page's `<head>` from an include, usually `_includes/head.html`:

1. **If your site has its own `_includes/head.html`,** paste your Foresite line just before `</head>`.
2. **If the head comes from a theme gem** such as Minima, copy the theme's `_includes/head.html` into your site's `_includes` folder first, then add the line. Run `bundle info --path minima` (with your theme's name) to find the theme's files. Jekyll uses your copy instead of the theme's. Some themes have an empty `_includes/custom-head.html` for exactly this; if yours does, put the line there instead.
3. Rebuild and deploy. This works on GitHub Pages too.

Visits to `localhost` aren't counted, so `jekyll serve` won't add test traffic. After you deploy, the **Installation Check** in **Settings → Install** turns green with the first pageview.
