# Foresite vs Fathom

Prices checked 2026-10-08.

Foresite and Fathom are both cookieless, privacy-first web analytics. Foresite costs less at every traffic level on monthly billing: $4 a month for 10,000 pageviews against Fathom's $15 minimum, $9 vs $15 at 100,000, $39 vs $60 at 1 million and $149 vs $200 at 10 million, with unlimited sites and your stats stored in the EU. Fathom, running since 2018, is the better choice if you need a stats API, Google Analytics 4 import, Search Console data or a long track record; Foresite is the better choice if you want the lower bill, many sites, branded client reporting or a way past ad blockers.

## Prices

Monthly prices in USD, before tax, for the same monthly traffic. Both services count pageviews and custom events against one allowance shared by all your sites.

| Monthly pageviews and events | Foresite | Fathom (monthly billing) | Fathom sites included |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | **$4** | $15 (smallest plan, 100,000) | 50 |
| 100,000 | **$9** | $15 | 50 |
| 200,000 | **$19** (250,000 tier) | $25 | 50 |
| 250,000 | **$19** | $45 (500,000 plan) | 50 |
| 500,000 | **$29** | $45 | 50 |
| 1,000,000 | **$39** | $60 | 75 |
| 2,000,000 | **$69** (2.5M tier) | $100 | 100 |
| 2,500,000 | **$69** | $140 (5M plan) | 150 |
| 5,000,000 | **$99** | $140 | 150 |
| 10,000,000 | **$149** | $200 | 200 |
| 20,000,000 | **$249** | $380 | 300 |

Foresite includes **unlimited sites** at every price. Fathom includes the number of sites shown, and sells extra sites in packs of 50 for $10 a month ($100 a year), up to 15 packs.

Fathom also offers yearly billing at ten times the monthly price ("2 months free"), for example $150 a year for 100,000 pageviews or $600 a year for 1 million. Foresite bills monthly only, and twelve of its monthly bills still come to less at each level above: $108 and $468 a year respectively.

### What counts

- **Foresite** counts every pageview and every [custom event](https://foresite.dev/docs/custom-events) as one event. [Automatic events](https://foresite.dev/docs/automatic-events) (outbound clicks, file downloads, 404 pages) count too, which is why each kind is off until you switch it on. Bots and floods of traffic are filtered out before anything is stored and never count. See [how we count](https://foresite.dev/docs/how-we-count).
- **Fathom** counts pageviews and custom events against one allowance, including events sent through its API. Each request to Fathom's API also counts as a pageview.

### When your traffic changes

- **Foresite** has no plans to pick. At the start of each month, your next bill is set to the price for last month's traffic, up or down, and we email you when it changes. A quiet month lowers your next bill. We never stop collecting your stats because of traffic. See [pricing](https://foresite.dev/pricing).
- **Fathom** never changes your plan automatically and keeps collecting data through traffic spikes. If you stay well over your allowance, it emails you about a larger plan, sends reminders, and then locks dashboard and API access until you upgrade or your usage falls back within your plan; collection continues meanwhile. If you're under your tier for two months in a row, you can move yourself to a smaller plan.

### Trial

Both have a 7-day free trial with every feature. Fathom asks for a card at sign-up and bills automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel; it emails you first. Foresite needs no card; if you don't subscribe, it stops collecting, and your dashboard stays viewable for 30 days before your data is deleted.

## When Fathom is the better choice

- **You need an API.** Fathom has one for pulling reports and managing sites and events. Foresite has none yet.
- **You're moving off Google Analytics and want your history.** Fathom imports GA4 data. Foresite starts counting from the day you install it.
- **You want search data next to your traffic.** Fathom connects to Google Search Console.
- **You want a long track record.** Fathom has run since 2018 and serves thousands of customers. Foresite launched in October 2026.
- **You rely on saved views, chart milestones, password-protected or expiring share links, or handing sites to clients' own accounts.**
- **You prefer yearly billing.**

## When Foresite is the better choice

- **You want to pay less.** Foresite is cheaper at every traffic level in the table, and from $4 a month for small sites, where Fathom starts at $15.
- **You run many sites.** Every subscription covers unlimited sites, so an agency with 120 small client sites pays for traffic, not site packs. See [Foresite for agencies](https://foresite.dev/docs/agencies).
- **Your traffic goes up and down.** Your price follows last month's traffic automatically, so a quiet month costs less and a busy one never locks your dashboard.
- **You report to clients under your own name.** Share links and email reports carry your logo, colours and, if you like, your own web address.
- **Ad blockers hide a real share of your visitors.** A [custom domain](https://foresite.dev/docs/custom-domain) serves Foresite from your own subdomain on any site builder.
- **You want your stats stored in the EU,** not just processed there.
- **You'd rather try it without a card.**

## Switching from Fathom

There's no importer, so your Fathom history stays in Fathom. Export it as CSV before you cancel if you want to keep it.

1. Start a Foresite trial and add your site.
2. Add the Tracking Script to the `<head>` of every page, alongside Fathom's. It's one line; the [install guide](https://foresite.dev/docs) has step-by-step guides for [Webflow](https://foresite.dev/docs/webflow), [Framer](https://foresite.dev/docs/framer), [Squarespace](https://foresite.dev/docs/squarespace), [WordPress](https://foresite.dev/docs/wordpress), [Wix](https://foresite.dev/docs/wix), [Shopify](https://foresite.dev/docs/shopify) and [Carrd](https://foresite.dev/docs/carrd).
3. Replace each `fathom.trackEvent()` call with `foresite()`, for example `foresite('signup')`. Fathom's `_value` is in cents; Foresite's `revenue` amount is in whole units, such as `49.99`. Then add your Goals in **Settings → Goals**. See [custom events, goals and revenue](https://foresite.dev/docs/custom-events).
4. Run both for the 7-day trial and compare. Expect some difference: each tool filters bots and counts unique visitors in its own way, and Foresite counts a visitor once per day. See [how we count](https://foresite.dev/docs/how-we-count).
5. When you're happy, remove Fathom's script and cancel your Fathom plan.
