Automatic events

Foresite can record these without any code. Each one recorded counts as an event toward your monthly price, so each kind is off until you switch it on in Settings → General:

• Outbound link clicks: clicks on links to other websites. Only the destination's address and path are recorded, never its query string.
• File downloads: clicks on links to PDFs, ZIPs, documents, media and installers.
• 404 pages: visits to pages that don't exist, so you can find broken links. This works in browsers that report a page's status (Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers).

Form submissions are never recorded automatically: form fields are where personal data is most likely to slip in.
