Install Foresite on Jekyll

Jekyll builds every page's <head> from an include, usually _includes/head.html:

  1. If your site has its own _includes/head.html, paste your Foresite line just before </head>.
  2. If the head comes from a theme gem such as Minima, copy the theme's _includes/head.html into your site's _includes folder first, then add the line. Run bundle info --path minima (with your theme's name) to find the theme's files. Jekyll uses your copy instead of the theme's. Some themes have an empty _includes/custom-head.html for exactly this; if yours does, put the line there instead.
  3. Rebuild and deploy. This works on GitHub Pages too.

Visits to localhost aren't counted, so jekyll serve won't add test traffic. After you deploy, the Installation Check in Settings → Install turns green with the first pageview.
